In 2022 the Toronto Community Crisis Services launched as a pilot program with the goal of testing a non-police-led, community-based service to respond to mental health and addiction crisis in our city. After the TCCS launched, there was a 4.5% decrease in calls to the Toronto Police and in July of 2024 the service went city-wide.
