The aspect of Dog Rescue that I connect with most is the abandonment. I personally struggle with abandonment because I was raised as a child in a wildly traumatic environment where I experienced abandonment in multiple forms. The impact that abandonment has on the psyche is profound. I don’t know if canines experience it the same way as humans do but I believe that the emotions and souls of animals closely mirror ours and on a very visceral level. We live side-by-side with our canine companions

This is Aiko. I want to name him Chad but he came into rescue with his name (and knows it) so it’s sticking for now. But he totally looks like a Chad Powers, am I right? Aiko is approx 3 years old. A chihuahua mix and a very cool dude. He ended up in rescue because of a desperate, sad situation. His owner reached out to multiple rescues for help but nobody stepped up, not even me. But, @dtw.left.behind did ❤️‍🩹 Then they reached out to me because Aiko has a cerebellar disability and wanted some

PERCY UPDATE ❤️‍🩹 The fluffy, little paralyzed puppy that I brought home from the shelter a week ago is healing right before our eyes. Everyday he’s showing a little bit more energy and sass. He’s no longer leaking urine. His foster, Stacy, has been expressing his bladder 3 times a day and his diaper stays dry in between. Last week, he was constantly leaking and his diaper was always wet. His diarrhea stopped after we fasted him for his MRI and I started him on a raw diet. His poops have been f

BUBBLES IS ADOPTABLE!! 🎉 AND ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS ❤️ Bubbles is a 10lb female terrier mix estimated to be 1-3 years old. She has the sweetest disposition and gets along with everybody. She loves all dogs and people. She’s extremely affectionate, chill and easy-going. We saved her from the shelter a couple months ago because she was believed to be paralyzed. I took her to neurology and provided a full work up, including spinal tap and MRI. I learned that she had immune mediated inflammation of

UPDATE ON WADE 😍 Our sweet, little Wade is rapidly gaining weight and having so much fun at his foster home. His foster brothers include him in playtime, which he really loves. They also teach him cool things like how to use the stairs! At night, Wade pretty much acts like a big boy these days and sleeps on a dog bed in his foster mom’s room. If he hast to go potty in the middle of the night, he just goes over to his little potty pad and does his business and then goes back to the bed. His fost

It’s been such a whirlwind that I don’t even remember taking this video of Priscilla when she arrived yesterday 🤪 I’m officially at the point where I cannot get everything done myself so I’m gonna need a couple extra hands this week and I’m hoping that some of you out there might be able to help me out! I am going to need help getting Raven to and from therapy. She starts her PEMF training with @fatherofpaws at our home in Mesa and she’s currently staying at Sky Sanctuary in Phoenix. It’s a 35

QUALITY TIME WITH ROWAN ❤️‍🩹🥰 yesterday I went to visit Rowan at the hospital and I found him to be even more relaxed and snuggly than the last time I saw him. He did seem a little lethargic, but it’s hard to say. I almost feel bad saying that about him because I imagine I’d feel a little low energy. Also, if I just had a hip replacement on one side and a leg amputation on the other. But besides being low energy, he seemed to be in great spirits. He was very quick to lean into the snuggling an

‼️WADE UPDATE ‼️ WADE IS OFFICIALLY WEIGHT BEARING AND USING HIS PAW!!!🙌🏼 Wade has had a scab on the top of his foot where it was dragging in a knuckled position. If you’ve been following his story, you may remember his paw being curled, rigid and completely immobile. we were told that he would never be able to regain use of it again, and we would likely have to amputate his leg. That scab is now healed, the fur has grown back and he now has a new little scab ON THE FRONT OF HIS TOES because t

Yesterday the vet hospital called to say that Rose was ready to go home, which came as quite a shock considering the condition she was in on Saturday. I’d also like to note that during her six day stay, I never received a single phone call from the vet hospital giving me an update. The only two updates I got were the two that I called in for and both times I only spoke to a tech who gave me her temperature and then said “she’s eating, drinking and pooping normal”. That was the extent of my commu
