Yash-led Toxic earned Rs 4.25 crore on September 3, while Hanuman Ansh saw a notable rise to Rs 11 crore on its 28th day. Awarapan 2 continued its run with Rs 0.40 crore, while Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey remained in theatres with smaller weekday collections.
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is running strong in international markets as it enters its eighth week at the box office. In fact, it has crossed the $1 billion mark overseas. Even as the film makes waves in different markets, it is set to begin its journey in Japan. The film will debut in the Asian country on September 11.
The Odyssey is already the highest grossing Imax release of all time with $457M at the global box office repping close to a third of the pic’s entire worldwide haul. Imax 70mm screenings alone have earned $66M across 41 locations worldwide for a massive $1.6M per screen average.
The London-listed company, which runs 49 cinemas in the UK, said admissions totalled 2.6m in the six months to July 2 - up 20.5% on the same period last year.
