Tesla launches its purpose-built Cybercab in Austin, Texas but its one million robotaxi miles look tiny next to Waymo.

Tesla's race to deploy Cybercab robotaxis will put regulatory limits to the test as the EV maker begins rides in the sporty, two-seaters that run without ​a steering wheel, pedals or mirrors.

Tesla shares jumped around 7% on Thursday as investors awaited this afternoon’s Cybercab event in Austin, Texas, where Tesla is expected to unveil its two-seat autonomous vehicle as it expands its robotaxi business.
