An 18-year-old teen mom intent on watching the new Smurfs movie without distractions allegedly stuck her 2-year-old in a hot car, alone, after the child kept crying during the film.

On top of her acting, Sedaris is an avid crafter. She showed off her crafting skills on her series At Home with Amy Sedaris and has written two bestselling DIY books: I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence (2006) and Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People (2010).

“Smurfs,” which billionaire pop star Rihanna stars in, produced and wrote music for, is shaping up to be both a critical and box office flop despite marketing that placed the billionaire’s name front and center. “Smurfs,” which opened in theaters Friday, failed to impress critics, earning just a 20% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Smurfs have entertained generations of kids since the 1950s. But is the new "Smurfs" movie with Rihanna and James Corden OK for all youngsters?

That latest effort, the new Smurfs animated movie, hits the 2025 movie calendar on July 18, and the critics are here to help parents decide if they should plan on taking the kids to the theater this weekend.

Smurfs 2025 is not streaming on Netflix, and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Paramount Pictures release. Almost all Paramount movies go to Paramount’s streaming platform, Paramount+.
