The third major of the year is upon us as the 2025 U.S. Open brings the world's best golfers to one of the world's toughest courses: Oakmont Country Club.

This year's U.S. Open will be played at Oakmont Country Club, widely considered one of the most difficult courses in the country, if not the world.

According to weatherunderground.com, the first round of the US Open on June 12 will be sunny with a mix of clouds and hot for Western Pennsylvania, with a high of 87 degrees and a low of 65.

There is a chance of rain during the tournament, with storms expected ahead of the first round.

The United States Golf Association won't release the purse until later in the week but it was $4.3 million last year, with $4.3 going to winner Bryson DeChambeau.

Oakmont is considered the toughest golf course in America, and the last few days of practice rounds have not changed anyone's opinions.

"This is probably the hardest golf course that we'll play," he told reporters Tuesday. "Maybe ever."
