A shooting Friday morning at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque prompted a shelter-in-place order after one person was killed and another was injured. The suspect remains at large and may still be on campus, the university said.

Authorities are searching for a suspected gunman who remains at large after a Friday morning shooting at the University of New Mexico’s student housing complex left one person dead and a second injured during orientation week.

U.S. Marshals arrested the suspected shooter at an apartment complex in Los Lunas, New Mexico, about 25 south of Albuquerque, the Valencia County Sheriff's Office said. No other information about the suspect was provided but authorities were expected to give a news conference later Friday.
