This past week of the NBA postseason marked the first two quests for the Larry O’Brien Trophy, with the Pacers and Thunder battling in Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals on Thursday and Sunday night. Most of the usual suspects shined in the high-stakes environment, but there was one noteworthy newcomer to join the top five this week.

The Oklahoma City Thunder once again were in control against the Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of the 2025 NBA Finals on Sunday. This time they stayed in control for all 48 minutes. The Thunder won Game 2 comfortably,

Alexander. With his first basket of Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night, Gilgeous-Alexander — the NBA’s reigning MVP — reached the 3,000-point mark for the season, including playoffs. The milestone came on a 10-footer with 8:24 left in the opening quarter.
