One of the strongest storms we've seen in Massachusetts in quite a while will bring rain and snow on Thanksgiving.

W hile we saw rain in the Boston area, some parts of the state saw up to 10 inches of snow on Thanksgiving. Here's a list of observations from the National Weather Service:

For the rest of the state, the precipitation was limited to rain, but some communities in Bristol, Essex, Hampshire, Middlesex, Norfolk and Plymouth counties received over 1 inch of rain.

Much of southern New England saw up to an inch of rain during Thanksgiving Day with parts of northern New England seeing snowfall.

Meteorologists are keeping a close eye on whether “wintry weather” arrives in Massachusetts around Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

A strong storm in the Midwest is expected to fuel storms on the East Coast, including New England, heading into Thanksgiving.

Many travelers were encouraged to add buffer time to their holiday commutes and use caution on roadways as stormy conditions were expected to move eastward across the region.
