Amorim’s trust could be the spark Mount needs. The 26-year-old ended last season on a high, scoring twice in the Europa League semifinal against Athletic Bilbao. He’s reportedly been injury-free this pre-season and even got minutes in games against Leeds and West Ham.

Amorim’s preferred 3-4-3 formation failed to gel last season with United finishing 15th in the top flight and managing just 42 points, their lowest since relegation in 1973-74. They have been able to work on patterns of play while Stateside and also doing more traditional physical workouts.
