Why would both engines of a state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner lose power just seconds after takeoff, when everything appears to be okay? This is now the focus of an international investigation, after the disastrous crash of Air India Flight 171 on June 12,

The new leader of the US Federal Aviation Administration said the deadly crash of an Air India Boeing Co. 787 jet last month was unlikely to have been caused by a mechanical issue with the plane or inadvertent movement of the aircraft’s fuel control switches.

Air India says precautionary inspections have found no issues on the locking mechanism of fuel control switches for select Boeing aircrafts.
