New England Patriots No Longer Pursuing Cincinnati Bengals Star Receiver Tee Higgins in Free Agency. The Bengals plan on using the franchise tag on Higgins by the March 4 deadline.

Philadelphia Eagles' offseason will largely be remembered for one thing, and that's signing Saquon Barkley. That was crucial in the team winning Super Bowl LIX. Barkley didn't get the biggest contract among the Eagles' signings last year.

Higgins (6-4, 220 pounds) was picked by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft out of Clemson. The 26-year-old receiver hauled in 330 receptions for 4,595 yards and 34 touchdowns in five years (70 games) with the Bengals.

If not Tee Higgins, Chris Godwin is the second-best pending free agent receiving option. He is coming off a season-ending injury, but he was well on his way toward racking up his fourth straight 1,000-yard season with the Buccaneers.

Free agency begins on March 10 with the negotiating period for teams and free agent players. It's an annual way for teams to bolster their rosters ahead of the NFL draft by signing players from other teams.
