The storm is expected to reach its height between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. and could bring 3 to 6 inches of snow to inland areas of the state.

People who are planning to travel during the afternoon and evening on Thanksgiving should be careful, as the storm is expected to bring heavy, wet snow and rain.

A Thanksgiving storm is set to bring the first plowable snow of the season to much of Maine, with messy travel expected Thursday evening and night. The storm will wrap up on Thursday night with much quieter but colder weather heading into the weekend.

According to the NWS, the Seacoast will mostly see rain instead of snow. Most of Thursday's snowfall will happen in the northern parts of Maine and New Hampshire, while a wintry mix of rain and snow will fall over the central and western parts of the two states.

A storm will track off the coast of Maine through Thanksgiving day and into Thursday night bringing widespread rain and inland snow. Where the snow/rain line sets up is still in question, but mostly rain at the coast with mostly snow inland is likely.
