A brief respite from the rain appears to be coming later Thursday. A flood warning for four counties — Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, and Washtenaw — ended at 10 a.m., and the temperatures are expected to rise into the mid-60s.

People in metro Detroit woke up to flooded streets and water in their basements after storms Wednesday evening.

The hiatus in wet weather will last long enough for the Tigers’ first home game of the season to remain dry, but a jacket will come in handy. Under mostly cloudy skies, noon temperatures will be around 50 degrees. Peak afternoon temperatures will be in the mid 50s. Easterly winds will be 5 to 10 mph.
