Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces announced Monday it had acquired Thomas Pieters via trade from Bubba Watson’s RangeGoats GC, the first trade of the offseason. The 4Aces didn’t send a player back in return, as Sports Illustrated’s Matt Vincenzi reported, and the expectation is the 4Aces will not re-sign Pat Perez, whose contract expires Jan. 1, 2025.

Dustin Johnson has added European Ryder Cup player Thomas Pieters to his 4Aces GC team in the first of what is set to be many moves of the LIV Golf off-season. Pieters joined LIV Golf in February 2023 and played for Bubba Watson's RangeGoats GC side in his first two seasons.

The first domino of the LIV Golf offseason has fallen. The Dustin Johnson-captained 4Aces have acquired Thomas Pieters from the RangeGoats, a move signaling a new direction for the team to perhaps get younger.

Perhaps Tony Finau will join LIV Golf after all. After initially committing to this week’s Hero World Challenge, the 20-man event hosted by Tiger Woods every December, Finau pulled out at the last minute due to undisclosed reasons.
