Germany closed Russia's Bonn consulate after linking Moscow to a failed drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport targeting a Ukrainian cargo aircraft.

The figures were detailed in a classified assessment by Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), reviewing the initial operations of the Joint Center for Countering Hybrid Threats, launched in Berlin in mid-June.

Production has officially begun on over 5,000 medium- and long-range drones for Ukraine through a joint German-Ukrainian venture, the German news outlet Handelsblatt reported on Sept 3. The 300 million euro ($349 million) deal is set to be completed by mid-2027,
