ChatGPT is experiencing widespread issues on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 3.
Frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and xAI all experienced rare outages on Thursday morning, creating downtime for their corresponding AI chatbots. SpaceX, xAI’s parent company, said on Thursday afternoon that the issues with Grok resulted from “an outage at our Memphis compute center this morning.”
While Anthropic doesn't outright name ChatGPT, it's clear who the target of its coming Super Bowl ad is.
OpenAI, Gemini, Claude and Grok hit by outages Thursday, user reports spike.
ChatGPT 6 could arrive between September 3 and 10, bringing enhanced coding features. Anthropic is also testing Fable 5.1 and raising token limits by 25%.
While OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra is making a big splash in the AI world with its debut, it was far from the only one to be announced this week. When there’s a new, updated model seemingly every other day, it’s hard to stay up to date, let alone be excited, but the onslaught of new offerings is something to note.
