While Alex Anthopoulos always does things his way when running the Atlanta Braves' front office, Braves Country has to wonder if he is going to spend big like he promised during the earliest stages of MLB's Winter Meetings in Dallas.

Alex Anthopoulous said if it'll make the team better — they are in win-now mode — the #Braves won't let potentially going over the $241M luxury tax stop stop them from making a move. Said it's not a big deterrent, that they're mindful of it but won't let it dictate decisions.

Another low velocity arm that many think could be a bargain and eat some innings for the Braves in 2025 is veteran Colin Rea. He pitched to a 4.29 ERA in over 160 innings last season, and his sinker/sweeper combo gave hitters fits last year.

The Braves entered the offseason with a clear need in their outfield, but elected not to pursue one upgrade in particular.

The top priority for the Braves isn’t quite clear, but the market may end up determining where Alex Anthopoulos allocates the majority of his resources.

Alex Anthopoulos spoke with the media on Sunday evening ahead of the Winter Meetings officially getting underway in Dallas on Monday. The biggest news to come out of that presser was the President and GM of Baseball Operations for the Atlanta Braves saying that the luxury tax wouldn’t hinder the Braves from spending money this offseason.
