RARITAN TOWNSHIP – Target has announced the opening date for its new location in the Flemington Marketplace on Route 202. A soft opening is scheduled for Aug. 12 with a ribbon-cutting at 5 p.m., and the grand opening is set for Aug. 17, according to Levin Management.

The Minneapolis-based retailer said it is adding about 50 stores in 22 states, including four in California, six in Florida and one in Pennsylvania.

Target will open stores in Flemington and West Orange in 2025 as part of its national expansion strategy, adding retail, dining and more.

Target plans to open 48 new stores across 22 different states, including six Texas locations. One of those new stores will be in Katy.
