U.S. President Donald Trump’s move to terminate more than 90% of foreign aid through the USAID agency has undermined a near 20-year effort to stop HIV deaths in the country worst-hit by the disease.
But now President Trump’s defunding of the U.S. Agency for International Development threatens all that work, gutting more than 80% of humanitarian aid programs, including AIDS relief.
