Earlier this week it was announced that Billy Idol, alongside Oasis, Soundgarden, The White Stripes and more, is on the longlist of nominees for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame this year. And it's fair to say that the British punk veteran is pretty chuffed by the news.

While the Rock Hall voting is going on, Idol will be rolling out a new album & prepping for his It's A Nice Day To...Tour Again! trek.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame foundation announced the list of 14 performers who will be considered for induction on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, obviously! It’s a nice day to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — at least for Billy Idol and 13 fellow artists. On Wednesday, the Rock Hall announced the full lineup of musicians who are in the running to be inducted at its 2025 ceremony later this year.

Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, The Black Crowes and Joy Division/New Order also made the list of 14 performer nominees.

Billy Idol, the Black Crowes and Maná will also appear on the ballot for the first time, alongside Oasis, Joe Cocker, Mariah Carey and others.

Every year, the institution nominates some of the most impactful artists and bands for a shot at one of music’s biggest honors.
