If Ederson does depart Manchester City in the summer he will leave a sizable void in Pep Guardiola’s squad. Filling that void will be no easy feat. But it does appear that the Brazilian keeper could be set to leave City in the summer. His future is now a story to monitor ahead of and during the summer transfer window.

Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a late goal as Nottingham Forest beat Manchester City 1-0 to take a huge step towards Champions League qualification. While both sides hit the post, it was a game of few chances before a lovely move from Forest set Hudson-Odoi clear on the right, before he beat Ederson at his near post in the 83rd minute.

City are showing some signs of improvement and finishing strongly in the Premier League and FA Cup would go some way to salvaging a disappointing season. But the race for the top four is heating up with Chelsea, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Brighton all in pursuit.

Liverpool’s lead in the Premier League has grown to 16 points and Mohamed Salah’s lead in the Golden Boot contest is up to seven goals.
