Three Swift Current athletes combined to win two gold and four silver medals at the Alberta Indoor Track and Field Championship in Edmonton on March 1-2. Macey Tuplin won silver in the U16 Triple Jump. Colter Folk struck gold in the U18 1,500 Metres and raced to a silver in the 3,000 Metre event.
After a tough overtime loss earlier this week, the Prince Albert Raiders still picked up a point and now are just one win away from securing a playoff spot. They’ll have a chance to secure that spot on Friday at home against the Edmonton Oil Kings and on Saturday in Swift Current against the Broncos.
If the Swift Current Broncos are going to pass the Saskatoon Blades in the standings, tonight is probably a must win. Swift Current sits eighth in the WHL Eastern Conference, five points behind the Blades for seventh as they visit Saskatoon tonight.
Rebels forward Ty Coupland, wearing that same jersey number, repeated the feat as Red Deer defeated the Kelowna Rockets 10-2 at the Westerner Park Centrium during Brandon Hagel Bobblehead Night on Saturday, March 1. "Everything was clicking for us as a group. When you score 10 goals in a game, it's a lot of fun out there," Coupland said.
