A winter storm warning starts at 5 p.m. for parts of Eastern North Carolina, with the heaviest snow expected across the Outer Banks, state officials said Tuesday. Stein said “the main thing is we want folks to stay home” with supplies they need.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit western North Carolina on Friday, Jan. 24, according to Governor Josh Stein. President Trump mentioned North Carolina by name in his inaugural address on Monday,

"I think that is very good news for the people of western North Carolina that this issue is front of mind for the administration," said N.C. Gov. Josh Stein (D).

President Donald Trump's first trip since being sworn into office for a second time will include a stop in western North Carolina. The New York Post first reported Trump's visit. A person directly familiar with Trump's plans confirmed the visit to WRAL.
