One person was shot by Fort Lauderdale police Sunday, but no information was immediately available about what caused the incident.

Around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Northeast 2nd Street in Boynton Beach, where they found five people with gunshot wounds. Among them was 31-year-old Davon Wood, of Fort Lauderdale, who died after being transported to a nearby hospital.

A man has died following an officer-involved shooting in Fort Lauderdale Sunday afternoon, authorities said. The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. when a driver “exited his vehicle with what appeared to be a firearm” after pulling into a gas station at 3100 Davie Blvd.
