A scuffle broke out between Donovan Mitchell and Desmond Bane during the Memphis Grizzlies-Cleveland Cavaliers game on Sunday. In the middle of the third quarter, Mitchell was driving with the basketball when he lost his balance and fell to the ground.

Donovan Mitchell and Desmond Bane wrestled for the ball in the third quarter of the Cavaliers’ win over the Grizzlies on Sunday night, nearly setting off a melee before cooler heads prevailed in Cleveland.

Midway into the third quarter of the Cavs' 129-123 win over the Grizzlies, tensions boiled over between Donovan Mitchell and Desmond Bane.

After Mitchell gained possession of a loose ball, Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane jumped on him to fight for a jump ball. Unfortunately, the action did not stop there. As the two wrestled for the ball, even well after the whistle, tempers flared in front of the Cavaliers bench, causing a huge commotion.

As Mitchell and Bane rolled around, the undisputed leader of the Cavs wound up atop Bane and rose to his feet. With Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson and Grizzlies center Zach Edey attempting to lift Mitchell off Bane, Memphis guard Ja Morant pushed Mitchell.
