On the second night of a back-to-back for both teams, the Dallas Stars ended a two game losing streak with a straightforward 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

In his first start since Jan. 7, but his second game in two days, goalie Alex Lyon gave up 3 first-period goals in the Detroit Red Wings' 4-1 loss.

Jason Robertson had one of three first-period goals plus a third-period assist and Jake Oettinger made 33 saves as the Dallas Stars beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Sunday night.

A huge key was the Wings' power play, which had so lethal in recent games (power play goals in 10 of their last 11 games). The Wings did score once, with Lucas Raymond scoring his 19th goal, but the Wings couldn't match the two or three power-play goals they had scored six of the last 11 games.

Edvinsson cut the lead to 3-1 at 12:01 of the third period. Dylan Larkin carried the puck through the neutral zone and around the net before finding Edvinsson, who scored through traffic from the high slot.

Ultimately, there will be no guesswork required when it comes to determining whether the Detroit Red Wings have had a successful season. Either they will qualify for the postseason or they won’t. But right now,

The Red Wings’ struggles in the Lone Star State continued Sunday with a 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center. The Red Wings (21-21-4) have dropped back-to-back games for the first time since Todd McLellan took over as coach on Dec. 26, scoring just one goal in each game.

Sunday's 4-1 loss in Dallas might be another indication the Wings are falling back to their level, having now lost three of their last four games.
