Trump "peace deal" falls apart
The fighting comes only six weeks after Trump, along with Malaysian leader Anwar Ibrahim, oversaw the signing of the ceasefire deal at a summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Kuala Lumpur, in which the U.S. president was thanked for his role.
Analysts warn that Phase 2 of the ceasefire presents a host of complex challenges that could slow or even stall the process.
The second conflict was between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. Trump, 79, on Thursday held a peace deal signing ceremony with leaders of both countries at the U.S. Institute of Peace, the exterior of which now bears Trump’s name.
President Donald Trump was awarded the first ever FIFA Peace Prize on Dec. 5. It comes after he didn't win the Nobel, but he has been nominated.
Locals in Thailand and Cambodia took shelter after Thailand launched airstrikes along the disputed border and Cambodia fired back with rockets and drones, as both sides accused the other of breaking a ceasefire that halted fighting earlier this year.
