Tropical Storm Edouard could reach hurricane strength as it nears the coasts of Texas and Louisiana on Sept. 1, the National Hurricane Center said.

Tropical Storm Edouard was strengthening as it moved toward the Southeast Texas coast Tuesday morning, with landfall expected later today near the Texas-Louisiana border.

The severe risk remains relatively low in the general thunderstorm category, but the flood threat begins to increase for the easternmost portion of our viewing area at a 2 out of 4.
