The United Nations Security Council has called on Thailand and Cambodia to de-escalate and amicably resolve their ongoing dispute which has claimed lives of over 30 people and displaced more than 130,000. The call was made by all 15 members of the UNSC at a closed door emergency meeting in New York.

The conflict over the shared border between the two countries grew on Saturday, in the deadliest conflict between them in more than a decade.
