DETROIT - A day after severe storms lashed out across Southeast Michigan, more than 260,000 homes and businesses remained without power Friday morning. The bulk of the outages - more than 240,000 - are DTE customers.

The number of utility customers without power in the Lansing area stood at nearly 12,500 by Thursday afternoon as storms rolled through the region.
