SEOUL, Nov. 28 (Yonhap) -- Heavy snow blanketed South Korea's capital area for the second consecutive day Thursday, with more than 40 centimeters of snowfall seen in Gyeonggi Province, surrounding Seoul.

Up to 26 centimetres of snow fell over northern parts of the South Korean capital, as hundreds of flights were cancelled and homes in multiple areas left without power.

The worst November snowstorm in half century has hit Seoul, grounding hundreds of lights countrywide and disrupting commuter traffic in the capital.
