After being laid off by ESPN in August and spending three years with the network, Griffin is now embarking on a new career venture with Netflix. Griffin had two years remaining on his ESPN contract before being laid off, but a slew of cuts around the network had the former NFL quarterback packing his bags.

Robert Griffin III still doesn’t know why ESPN let him go back in August and, at this point almost four months later, he doesn’t need to know anymore. Griffin III discussed the end of his three-year run at the network while on ‘Pardon My Take’ on Friday.

On Monday, it was announced that Robert Griffin III would be joining Netflix for its Christmas Day livestream, marking the ex-quarterback's first formal NFL gig since getting the boot from ESPN. After the news was first reported,

Robert Griffin III is returning to NFL coverage just four months after getting the boot from ESPN. Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported Monday that the former Heisman winner Griffin has been tabbed by Netflix to lead their coverage of this year’s NFL Christmas Day doubleheader.

Robert Griffin III had an incredible career at Baylor, which included winning the Heisman Trophy in 2011. Griffin grew up in Texas and would have strongly considered the Longhorns. However, they did not offer him as a quarterback coming out of high school.
