Pete Medhurst, a longtime broadcaster who earned the title of “Voice of Navy Athletics,” died Monday night after battling brain cancer. He was 55. Mr. Medhurst’s death was confirmed Tuesday morning by his wife Brenda Medhurst.

Pete Medhurst, who was the voice of Navy football for the past 12 years and Navy lacrosse for 24 years, died at age 55.

Medhurst was the voice of Navy football for the past 12 years and had been with the Navy Radio Network since 1997 broadcasting football, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, volleyball, swimming and wrestling.
