The slumping San Francisco Giants have traded their longest-tenured player, veteran reliever Tyler Rogers, to the New York Mets a day before the Major League Baseball trade deadline.

A few days after adding lefty Gregory Soto, the Mets returned to the bullpen market Wednesday and landed right-hander Tyler Rogers from the San Francisco Giants. It’s a bold move meant to patch up a leaking relief corps before it sinks the season.

Per multiple reports, the return for Rogers will be right-handers Jose Butto and Blake Tidwell, as well as outfielder Drew Gilbert. Butto has pitched over parts of four seasons with the Mets and has a 3.64 ERA this season over 47 innings, while Tidwell and Gilbert are New York’s No. 10 and No. 12 prospects per MLB Pipeline.
