The first two episodes of Lanterns established a murder mystery in Rushville, Nebraska, as Hal Jordan and John Stewart investigated a strange extraterrestrial presence while uncovering the threat posed by the Manhunters.

There's nothing inherently wrong with HBO's new 'Lanterns' superhero detective show, but halfway into the season I still don't really care about the characters or story.
