MLB insider Ken Rosenthal spoke Tuesday about the idea of the Golden At-Bat rule and said he's not a fan of it at all. "My instinct is that it's not baseball," Rosenthal said on the baseball show Foul Territory. "It’s not the way the game has been played for 100-plus years and I just have a problem with it from that perspective.”

But there's a potential new rule in the ether right now, and MLB commissioner Rob Manfred calls it the "Golden At-Bat." "There are a variety of [rule changes] that are being talked about out there," Manfred said in October on The Varsity podcast with John Ourand.
