The East Point Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred earlier this afternoon. Police say at 4:27 p.m., officers were dispatched to 2436 Stone Road, Apartment 4 in reference to a mentally ill person.

A person was shot in an officer-involved shooting on Saturday, according to the East Point Police Department. Officers were called around 4:30 p.m. to an apartment complex on Stone Road in East Point in reference to a mentally ill person who’d ingested narcotics and was attempting self-harm inside the residence.
