Despite being thousands of miles away from Gaza, North Texans have been mobilizing for months, helping get humanitarian aid to those who need it most.
Since Israel’s offensive led to a security breakdown in Gaza that has made it nearly impossible to safely deliver food to starving Palestinians, much of the limited aid entering is being hoarded by gangs and merchants and sold at exorbitant prices.
"President Trump wants to alleviate suffering for the people of Gaza because he has a humanitarian heart. He announced a new aid plan today to help Gazans obtain crucial access to food – details are forthcoming," White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly said in a comment to ABC News.
In Gaza, the death toll is rising as the starvation and malnutrition crisis worsens. The UN’s aid chief warned the coming days will be “make or break” for humanitarian efforts as aid slowly trickles amid the Israel’s military daily pause in operations.

JERUSALEM/GAZA, July 27 (Reuters) - Israel on Sunday announced a halt in military operations for 10 hours a day in parts of Gaza and new aid corridors as Jordan and the United Arab Emirates airdropped supplies into the enclave, where images of starving Palestinians have alarmed the world.
UAE and Jordan carried out on Sunday the first airdrops of humanitarian aid into Gaza in months. One Emirati and two Jordanian military planes took off from Jordan loaded with 25 tonnes of humanitarian and relief aid which was dropped over Gaza.
An MP has set off on a three-day journey to help aid workers deliver an ambulance full of essential supplies to Ukraine. Rachel Taylor, who represents North Warwickshire and Bedworth, is joining Dawid Kozlowski who, since Russia invaded in 2022, has co-ordinated the delivery of more than 300 tonnes of aid to the country.
