DENVER — A winter storm made its way through the state overnight, dropping inches of snow in the mountains and giving Denver the first snow of the season. Here are the areas that got the most snow in the past 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service:
DENVER (KDVR) — The northern lights swept across Colorado on Tuesday night, leaving pink, purple and green colors in the sky. While there’s another chance to see the aurora borealis on Wednesday night, the Pinpoint Weather team said it’s unlikely.

Hues of red, purple, pink and green were not in the forecast for the evening, but that’s what hundreds of Coloradans witnessed anyway as the northern lights put on a show Tuesday night.
The aurora borealis is a rare occurrence in Colorado; although it has been showing up sporadically in the northern part of the state in recent years, it almost never makes it all the way to Denver. According to people lucky enough to catch the colorful skies on Tuesday, it was one of the most colorful displays to ever grace Colorado.
