As Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels celebrated one of the biggest moments of his football career, upsetting the Detroit Lions in the divisional round of the playoffs, he made sure to find his mom to share the moment with her.

Well, it’s January of 2025. Daniels just led the Commanders to a huge upset win over the Detroit Lions. He just, as my colleague Robert Zeglinski wrote, cemented the greatest rookie QB season in NFL history.

Washington followed its first playoff win since the 2005 season with a historic divisional upset against Detroit on the road.
