Superintendent Dr. Terry Ward of North Syracuse Central School District makes the safest decision for students by assessing the weather, communicating with other superintendents, and testing road conditions before deciding whether to delay or cancel school.
"Every storm is a little different, and every storm takes a little different approach on how you're going to attack it," said Beatrice City Street superintendent Jason Moore.
Snow will continue throughout the Midwest today as nearly 800 delays are in effect across the country already, with Chicago being a major hotspot. The storm will push some light snow to Upstate New York and rain farther south.
