No. 8 Ole Miss snapped a nine-game road losing streak against ranked opponents on Saturday with a dramatic 34-26 win at No. 13 Oklahoma that keeps the Rebels in prime position to reach the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history.

The Oklahoma Sooners bounced back from their first loss of the season with a dominant 26-7 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.

OU (6-1, 2-1 SEC) lost 34-26 to Mississippi (6-1, 3-1) at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Junior kicker Lucas Carneiro expands the lead with a 37-yard field goal. Senior quarterback Trinidad Chambliss completes a 8-yard pass to senior tight end Trace Bruckler for a touchdown.

For the first time this season, Brent Venables’ defense posted a shutout as the OU football team rolled to a 44-0 win over Kent State on Saturday in Norman.

The defense held South Carolina to just 1.6 yards per carry and 3.3 yards per play. The Oklahoma defense was 3 of 15 on third down but allowed four fourth-down conversions. Still, Oklahoma kept South Carolina out of the end zone early in the game and had three fourth down stops.
