The Irish arm of doughnut maker Krispy Kreme last year recorded a pre-tax loss of €1.3m as economic conditions impacted store footfall and rising cost pressures.
Krispy Kreme has closed or sold 62 factory units — or locations that have a full doughnut production line — since the end of fiscal 2005, which ended in January 2005, the company reported.
