Helicopter crashes near training field in Fort Worth
A helicopter crashed Friday morning near the Bell Helicopter training field in Fort Worth. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m., leaving the aircraft damaged and resting on its side. It is currently unknown how many people were on board, if there are injuries, or what caused the crash.
The U.S. Senate unanimously passed legislation Wednesday to toughen military helicopter safety rules and rescind a provision in the annual defense bill that critics said would have weakened aviation safety.
Fort Worth Fire EMS responded to the facility at 3825 Greenbelt Road on Friday morning. An instructor and student were taken to a hospital.
Two people were injured in a helicopter crash in Bell’s helicopter training facility in Fort Worth on Friday, NBC5 reported. The Fort Worth Fire Department confirmed that a student and an instructor were injured in the incident. Both patients are in stable condition, the fire department said.
Two occupants of the aircraft were unharmed. The suspect will face a federal felony charge for destruction of aircraft or aircraft facilities.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has a new helicopter, and it's helping their crews respond to hard-to-reach places — getting deputies where they're needed for hoist rescues.
“My hobby is jet engines,” Dustin Brice explained to me over the phone. “I was sitting in the garage one day, and there’s a Fast and Furious movie with a car that’s kind of doing the same thing. It has a small jet engine in the back, and it’s providing electrical power to a device they have on the car. And I was like, ‘Man, that’s super cool.’
The U.S. Navy said it recovered an F/A-18F Super Hornet and a MH-60R Seahawk lost from USS Nimitz in two separate incidents in the South China Sea back in October. The incidents remain under investigation while retrieved aircraft parts are being moved to a specified U.S. military facility in the Indo-Pacific for thorough examination, the Navy said.
