Uber is cutting small teams by nearly half and allowing about 1% of its workforce to continue working remotely.

Uber is cutting roughly 10% of its staff in the rideshare company’s largest round of layoffs since 2020, the company’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in a message to employees on Wednesday.

Uber is flattening its organization and reducing its workforce by 10%, laying off more than 3,000 workers, while pushing for RTO and limiting remote work to 1%.

Uber is laying off 93 Seattle-based employees, part of broader cuts at the rideshare giant, according to a Wednesday state regulatory filing. The San Francisco-based company announced this week that it was conducting a sweeping reorganization of its workforce, resulting in a 10% reduction of its workforce, or roughly 3,300 employees.

If approved, the combined company would become one of the largest food delivery platforms in the world.
