Music mogul Scooter Braun has said he was "shocked" by Taylor Swift's "deeply unfair" reaction when he acquired the rights to her first six studio albums. Braun said he thought buying Swift's former label Big Machine in 2019 would be an "exciting thing".

Back in 2019, it was revealed that Taylor Swift's master recordings and the rights of her first six albums were sold to music executive Scooter Braun because he bought her former label, Big Machine Records. This meant all of her work was now owned by someone she said had bullied her for years.
