OpenAI has released its latest AI model, which it called “the world’s most intelligent”, as the ChatGPT maker aims to retake the lead from arch-rival Anthropic ahead of a planned public listing.

OpenAI calls its latest model GPT-6 Astra, which follows July’s release of GPT 5.6 Sol, and said in a blog post that it is faster and capable of performing more tasks than any prior iteration.
