Ohio State is making a rather unusual choice heading into the 2026 season. Ryan Day is putting both of his coordinators in the middle of the noise rather than watching it from upstairs.

Ryan Day met with reporters and shared that one talented freshman will get the first chance to return kicks against Ball State.

Chip Kelly, as Ryan Day alluded to, was Day's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach when Ohio State won the national championship in the 2024-25 season, and he coached Day at the University of New Hampshire. Day was also on Kelly's NFL coaching staffs in 2015 and 2016 with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers.
