LONDON (AP) — Uber and British tech company Wayve are launching London’s first self-driving taxi service on Thursday, giving residents a chance to use technology that’s already available in many U.S. cities and other parts of the world.
Uber and Wayve have begun autonomous rides across the UK's capital, although humans are still supervising them for now
London's robotaxi rollout gives passengers their first public opportunity to experience Wayve's autonomous driving technology through Uber. Human safety operators will oversee the early journeys, while riders can opt out.
